by park ave boy inquick background.
a few days ago someone brought up an old new york newspaper called the "brooklyn eagle.
" during lunch i had a little time to do some research about the whole jw.borg and what i found almost knocked me out of my seat.

Rutherford was more like a commissioner, rather than judge. And even that is stretching it. -

Next steps for the Austrailian Royal Commission
by Coded Logic insince the watchtowers' lawyers have (a) failed to make any recommendations to the arc that would bring the watchtower up to date with "best practices and procedures" (b) have failed to submit a proposal for victim restitution (c) have failed to secure funding for a redress scheme and (d) have completely dismissed all the arcs' findings - what's the royal commission's next course of action?.
i see two possibilities:.
) negotiate a settlement with the watchtower.

We should also consider McClellan's closing words, "We will revisit this in the next couple of years, to see how you are doing."
There are a lot of fish to fry for the ARC. I believe this is going to be an exercise in patience for all of us.

We give more to the Watchtower Society than for our local KH
by James Jack ini have been doing the accounts for our local congregation now for 3 years.
i just thought, wow our local expenses total just $500 a month, yet we have an ongoing expense each month of $600 for the kh expansion work(ie:world wide work), $60 for the traveling overseer insurance and $54 for the local kingdom hall insurance, in addition to the operating committee expense of $525.. so, our one congregation sends $714 a month plus what the publishers contribute towards the world wide work usually between $600 to $700 per month.
in other words, we are at least sending, for our little congregation of 75 publishers, $1314 a month!

Other high level, long term auditing "brothers" who flew back to Brooklyn for accounting season have postulated similar projections on this very forum. Often it is met with skepticism and in today's current climate concerning Watchtower's pleading for money, claims that WT is making billions per year in donations never flies over well. I for one believe your projections as well as other "auditing" personnel. WT is pleading for money because they can. -

Interesting. To me saying it is "alright" means the pamphlets are ok to read. "All right" would make me think every pamphlet is correct with no fallacies. -

I am not one of them. The child abuse issue is my priority. The impetus in posting the above as I have is to make sure we focus on facts that do not derail the valid expose we are accomplishing on this front. -

The Data Protection Act 1998 (DPA) is an Act of Parliament of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland which defines UK law on the processing of data on identifiable living people. It is the main piece of legislation that governs the protection of personal data in the UK. Although the Act itself does not mention privacy, it was enacted to bring British law into line with the 1995 EU Data Protection Directive, which required member states to protect people's fundamental rights and freedoms and in particular their right to privacy with respect to the processing of personal data. In practice it provides a way for individuals to control information about themselves. Most of the Act does not apply to domestic use,[1] for example keeping a personal address book. Anyone holding personal data for other purposes is legally obliged to comply with this Act, subject to some exemptions. The Act defines eight data protection principles. It also requires companies and individuals to keep personal information to themselves.

It was bad journalism in the OP link and is a disservice to the valid work the ExJW community does. Videos perpetuating this journalism are also a disservice.
